As you may be aware, there is no officially recommended scale of charges for professional accountancy services in the United Kingdom. As a general rule, fees are normally computed by reference to the skill and knowledge required for the work, the seniority of the persons necessarily engaged upon it, the time occupied and the degree of responsibility inherent with the assignment.

At Lexington French Associates Limited our charge out rates for professional services are based on the above principle and guidelines issued by the professional Accounting Bodies under whose aegis we are allowed to engage in public practice. In this regard, we respect the ethical codes of the professional accountancy bodies and the management consultancy institutes governing the profession.

However, we are flexible and our fees are competitive. We provide each client with an estimate of our fees for each different type of professional services we are to undertake on their behalf. The fee estimates as well as the basis of computing and the method of payment, are discussed and agreed with clients prior to commencement of the work and would normally be incorporated into the Letter of Engagement.

Justifiable out of pocket expenses incurred by the firm, directors and associates in the course of undertaking the assignments, are normally reimbursable and are billed as disbursements to clients.

In order to ease the financial burden of paying for professional services, we would normally agree for our fees to be paid in instalments by Direct Debit for certain routine work. While for some other services, payments are staged in line with the work completion programme.
